We are The Nosey Joe Band from Clinton, IN.  We play rockabilly and 50's/60's music!  We love to play for outdoor festivals, events, car shows when at all possible and we do play the clubs and such as well.

Be sure to check back frequently for updates and new information on The Nosey Joe Band !

The drummer is Kevin Payne.  He calls Rockville, IN his home.  He started out playing in the church and still has his first drum set.  As a kid, he used to get all the "new" music from his older sister and her friends. He learned how to play the songs by listening to music they played all the time.  He went to DePauw University and studied music along with getting a teaching degree in math.  He has played with a lot of different bands and he does recording sessions for people as well.  Drumming is his life and he likes playing in the 3-piece rockabilly band because he says, "three of us just gel".  He says there is an on-stage chemistry that makes it all work and that is what good bands must have!

The guitarist, playing both rhythm and lead guitar, is Wallace Oaks. He has been playing since he was 5.  His dad took him for lessons as age 5 and he was told not to bring little Wally back, as he already knew more than the instructor could help him with.  That started a long line of playing guitar with his dad's family and many other bands.  He said that there is no way he can remember the names of all the bands, but "I sure can remember all the fun I have had!"   He said he did his first bar gig at age 14 and in order for the band to have him play, he had to go outside on all the breaks.  He is influenced by many many artists, but Brian Setzer and the Stray Cats are the biggest, and it is pretty evident if you have ever caught a show.

The bassist, Bill Harper, started out as a rhythm guitar player (and a damn good one I am told) and "House of the Rising Sun" was the first song he ever learned at age 9.  He later switched to lead guitar, but he has been playing the electric bass since 1994.  He has been playing the stand up bass now, since April of 2008.  He has learned a lot and says he still has a lot to learn.  He says he never wants to go back to the regular bass, because "playing the stand up is so much more fun".  He has been influenced by many artists, among those are Merle Haggard, Chuck Berry, and Stevie Ray Vaughn.
